Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar, Nanded (Maharashtra)

Hazoor Sahib� also called as Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib and  Abchal Nagar is located in the city of Nanded in Maharashtra. The gurdwara was constructed from 1832 to 1837.It is situated near the banks of river Godavari. Guru Gobind Singh ji the 10th guru took his last breath here and the gurudwara is built at the place of his death.

There is room built inside the premises of gurudwara over the place where Guru Gobind Singh ji was cremated in 1708 is known as �Angitha Sahib�. Inside the Angitha sahib various weapons are displayed like dagger (kripan), a quiver with thirty-five arrows, two bows, a matchlock gun, a steel bow, a steel arrow, a shield of steel with studded precious gemstones and five gilded swords.

 

 

Five Takhts in Sikhism

There are five takhts in sikkhism and Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib is one of the five takhts in sikhism. Below are the five Takhts :

1.       Akal Takht Sahib - Golden Temple in Amritsar

2.       Takht Sri Damdama Sahib � It is situated in the village of Talwandi Sabo near Bhatinda(Punjab)

3.       Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib � It is situated at Anandpur Sahib

4.       Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib- It is situated in Nanded Maharastra

5.       Takht Sri Patna Sahib � It is situated in Patna city of Bihar state

List of Gurudwaras in Nanded

There are around 13-14 historical gurudwaras in Nanded. One can take a tour to all the gurudwaras. Buses are available near Gate number 2 outside the premises of gurudwara. These bus generally begin their trip at 9:00 or 9:30 AM and cover all the historical gurudwaras and will drop back to the gurudwara sahib around 3:30-4:00 PM

Laser and Fountain Show

There is a garden named "Gobind Bagh"near the Main Gurudwara. There is also a Gurudwara in the garden premises named �Gurudwara Gobind Bagh�. The park is very beautiful with lots of different varieties plants and trees.

A laser Show is organised every day in the evening. The show timings are 07:30 pm to 08:30 pm daily. In the Laser show the lives of the Ten Gurus are briefly described. Show has been conceived & directed by Jasbir Singh Dham, music & commentary is by Jagjeet Singh.

Also a fountain show is organised there every evening. It is very enjoyable. You can see the fountains dancing on the rhythm of various �shabads� like �300 saal guru de naal� and various other shabads.

 

 

 

Best time to visit Nanded:

Although there is best time to visit any holy place. But the condition that affects is the weather.� So according to weather the best time to visit Nanded is between November to February. The summers are too hot and monsoons have plenty of rainfall.

 

How to reach there

By Air:

Nanded has a domestic airport named �Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Airport�. Also the next nearest airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. It is around 250 kms from Nanded.

�After reaching Nanded or Hyderabad airport, hire a taxi or a public bus to gurudwara. 

By Train:

Nanded is well connected to almost all the major cities of India like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Amritsar, Patna etc. Take an auto-rickshaw to reach gurudwara.

Also the Gurudwara management board has opened a computerized railway ticket counter in the premises of the Gurudwara. 

By Road:

There are various types of bus facilities available from Maharashtra, Aurangabad and Hyderabad. It is an overnight journey from pune and �takes 5-6 hours from Aurangabad and Hyderabad.
