Nasiyan Jain Temple or Red Temple |
Nasiyan Jain Temple is also known as Soniji Ki Nasiyan.
It is perfect example of an architecturally rich Jain temple. The temple construction was started in the year 1864 and got completed in 1895.It took nearly around 31 years to get completed. The main chamber has several gold-plated wooden figures, depicting several figures in the Jain religion. It’s worth a visit. Ana Sagar Lake |
Ana Sagar Lake Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake named after Anaji tomar, the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan It is situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state in India. It was built in 1135 -1150 AD. The lake is spread over 13 Kilometres and also there is an island in the middle of the lake. You can avail water sports activities like water scooter ride or boating here. Boating charges are 160 - per person. There are two popular attractions of Ajmer nearby lake viz Daulat Bagh Gardens and Khobra Behroon temple. Adhai-din ka Jhonpra Mosque This fascinating mosque is a masterpiece of Indo-Islamic architecture by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1193.It is situated on the lower slopes of Taragarh hill. Taragarh Fort is the oldest hill forts in India and the world. It was constructed in 1354. It was built by King Ajaypal Chauhan on the summit of Taragarh Hill and overlooks Ajmer. Government museum is a must visit place for the people who love to gain knowledge in the history. The government museum was the residence of Prince Salīm, the son of the Emperor Akbar. The museum is inside the fort and houses a collection of Mughal and Rajput armour and sculpture. Its collection includes around 652 stone sculptures, 84 inscriptions, 3986 coins, 18 metallic objects, 149 miniature paintings, 75 arms & armour, 363 teracottas and 128 objects of local art & craft and pre-historic objects. Savitri temple is situated on the Ratnagiri hills at Pushkar. This temple as the name suggests is dedicated to Hindu godess, Savitri who was the first wife of Lord Brahma. It is very popular with the tourists and devotees alike. It also has an interesting legend attached with it. Lord brahma was about to do some yagna in Pushkar in which his wifes presence was must.But savitri kept him waiting so he got angry and married gayatri to start the yagna. When savitri came to know about this, she cursed brahma ji and said he would not be worshipped anywhere else, but only in Pushkar. To pacify her lord brahma granted her a wish that she would always be worshipped before Gayatri. To reach the temple, devotees have to climb lots of steps.
