Capital of Uttarakhand Dehradun is a beautiful, cool and calm city nestled in the Shivalik ranges in the foothill of the mighty Himalaya. The city is believed to be founded by Guru Dronacharya and thus is popular as 'Adobe of Drona'.

The serenity of this small town attracts tourists, pilgrims and enthusiasts from all walks of life. The lush green Doon valley contributes to its exotic beauty and is a great spot for trekkers. The city is loveable to everyone be it aged person, a trekker or children. Because of its cool temperate climate tourists like to visit Dehradun all through the year.

The world famous research centre in forestry, Forest Research Institute is situated in Dehradun.

It's not only an honour for a cadet to join Dehradun Military Academy but also it is famous among visitors too.

The ancient Tapkeshwar Shiv Temple is a place of worship for the devotees of Shiva. The temple is so named because the water droplets from a rock fall on the Shivling in the shrine.

Sahastra Dhara, translates to 'thousand fold spring' in English is an ideal picnic spot and attracts flock of visitors. The water falling from about 9 metres high looks very beautiful.

The water here possesses medicinal properties. Bathing in the sulphur spring of the water helps prevent skin diseases.

The famous Laxman Siddh temple on Hardwar/Rishikesh route holds the fact that a sage underwent penance here.

The beautifully developed Malsi Deer Park is a children's mini zoological park enveloped in attractive natural surroundings. The place is thus an ideal sight-seeing cum picnic spot.

Chandrabani (Gautam Kund) is a spot that was once inhabited by Maharishi Gautam, his wife and daughter Anjani. It is believed that Ganga had manifested herself on this spot.

Robber's Cave is a famed picnic spot, 8 Kms away from the City.

The greenery of Lachhiwala makes this serene and blissful picnic spot an ideal destination for visitors.

Santala Devi temple has great cultural and religious significance. Legend says, in early times as Santla Devi, along with her brother realizes inability to face the Mughal Army, discarded their weapons and began to pray. Then a light flickered and turned them both into stone images which are seen as shrine in the fort.

It is believed that Guru Dronacharya had done penance here.

Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam developed a water sports resort at the Asan Barrage or Dhalipur Lake in 1994 that offers a range of water activities like skiing, boating, rowing, kayaking, canoeing etc. During winters migratory birds are seen in our close surroundings.

Dakpathar is a beautiful tourist spot in the west of Doon Valley. The fascinating tourist spot also has the Yamuna Hydel Scheme.

The magnificent ecosystem of Rajaji National Park founded in 1966 spreads over an area of 820 sq.kms, has numerous species of flora and fauna.
