Golden TempleAmong the multifarious temples in North India Golden temple at Amritsar holds important place in history of Indian independence. It is adjacent to Jallianwala Bagh which was the site of unfortunate Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Golden temple is not only famous as religious spot for Sikhs but also it is a famous holidaying place in India. The holy pool of nectar in the temple has water with miraculous healing properties. Devout people come from far off places to drink the water of this holy pool owing to the belief if water of this holy pool is given to an ill person, he/she will be healed soon with magical powers of this water.
The combination of white marble flooring and golden tomb looks great to the eyes. The beauty of Golden temple increases when the image of tomb seen wavy in the surrounding water.
Akshar DhamAkshar Dham temple is another feather in Indian cap. The temple has always been a path of self-realization and God. The beautiful temple-Akshardham is a place of education, entertainment and enlightenment too. Thousands of volunteers worked for this temple campus sprawling in 23 acres in their dedication to Lord Swami Narayan.
The beautifully carved place of worship made up of pink sand stone with 136 carved pillars. The complex has well maintained parks which has many rides for entertaining children. You might wonder that no steel or cement used at all in building this 10 storied high monument.
Naina Devi TempleThe charming hill resort Nainital is also a religious place for it has the world famous Naina Devi Temple. Here Goddess Durga is adorning as Naina Devi. It is believed that in yesteryears the eyes of Sati fell here, hence named Naina Devi temple. The temple is also known as Mahishapitha. It is one of the 52 sati piths where the devotees worship pindis. The peaceful serene beauty is wonderful.
